A formal parliamentary petition regarding food policy in Britain, which states “...the Government must promote plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, and legumes, and end any support for campaigns promoting meat and dairy,” has so far garnered nearly 24,000 signatures. It was created by Shining World Green Business Innovation Award laureate Dale Vince (vegan) and an alliance of 40 organizations, including Shining World Compassion Award recipient Plant-Based Health Professionals. The government has officially responded in length, noting that its current food guidelines recommend that most of the food citizens eat “should be plant-based.” The campaign ends September 24, 2025, and if the 100,000-signature mark is reached before then, the proposal will be considered for debate in Parliament. Only British citizens and UK residents are eligible to sign. Excellent news, Dale Vince (vegan) and involved coalition, on the growing popularity of your vegan petition. In Heaven’s merciful grace, may your endeavor soon achieve 100,000 signatures, as your parliament recognizes the importance of the vegan diet in solving Britain’s most pressing challenges.
