Bulk buying your organic vegetables is a great cost-saving idea. I have a tip to make your fresh veggies last longer. For leafy greens, wrap the stems in a damp reusable cotton or linen cloth, then cover with plant-based wax wrap, place in a cloth bag, and store in the fridge. Tomatoes can be washed, dried, wrapped, and kept in the freezer. Cucumbers don’t like the cold, so skip the fridge. Instead, wash them, soak in salt water, wrap in linen and wax wrap, and store in a cool, airy spot. For pumpkin, peel and dice, remove as much air as possible from the bag before sealing, and freeze it for up to a month. Green onions stay fresh for about 10 days if you separate the white stems and green leaves, and store them in a box and cover with a damp cloth. As for potatoes, lay them flat in a cardboard box with a natural absorbent pad underneath, cover with a thick cloth, and keep them in a cool, dark place.
